Who Are You Guys - Alphabetical links
« on: July 20, 2010, 02:39:47 PM »
Okay, I linked all the posts in the "Who Are You Guys (revisited)?" thread to posters' names. You can now use this thread as a reference to find someone, click the name and then you will be redirected to his/her post.

Thanks in advance for your patience and cooperation, apologies in advance for any mistakes I make. If you notice a mistake, please send me a message and I'll fix the link.

Btw, here are links to the various Who Are You Guys threads:

The original thread (lots of really good info on the longest tenured among us, thanks Scott Burroughs for finding this)

Who Are You Guys (revisited)?

Who are you guys......really???

At the suggestion of one of the wiser members of our group (Joe Bausch - get to know him, you won't be sorry), I will link to Get To Know threads for folks who didn't post on the Who Are You Guys threads.

Things a little slow at the T-shirt shop?   ;)

I am spending WAY too much time on this site for that very reason.

Another great offering from George, thanks!

Also, does anybody have any ideas about what teenager wrote the entry for "Debbie Stevens?"   ::)

Just shooting screens, setting up the next job... that's when I do most of my arguing posting.

I had the same thought about someone who posted something under the name "angie", that's why I left her off.

Okay, ran into an unexpected speed bump, didn't realize there was a limit on total characters. Accordingly, I am moving the explanatory segment of my original post to the second post, and will see if I can keep everyone on the first post. Sorry if it reads a bit disjointed.

Same here.

Would be happy to share, although I have almost nothing interesting to really talk about.

EDIT: I actually found my old posting, although it is quite badly out of date, so perhaps it would be best if I wrote a new one anyway.

Okay, finished with one of the threads. Don't know if or when I'll get to the others.

The easiest way to update your info is to click on your name above, and when it takes you to your post, just hit the modify button in the upper right hand corner of your screen, next to the Quote button, change your info, and then save it. Alternatively, you could reply to the Who Are You Guys (revisited)? thread and when I see it, I'll change the link from your older post to your newer one.

Likewise, if you not on this list and wish to be, simply reply to the Who Are You Guys (revisited)? thread and when I see it, I'll link to your info.

Lastly, if you want to be removed, just say the word and I'll delete your link.

I'll think I'll go update my post now.

And it makes it tremendously easy for everyone to update your profile.  Some of y'all ain't as young as you claim anymore.

 8) Outstanding effort George!

Perhaps Ran or Ben could endeavor to use your links and make this a feature of the site?

Well, just looked in on the Who Are You Guys.....really? thread and there are a ton of regular posters over on that one as well, so I will have to incorporate those... someday. But not today.

For posters that are on both threads, I will try to use the more recent post.

George,

Excellent stuff and well done for your efforts. probably like quite few on here the first thing I did was to look at my own entry to see what guff I posted back then. Looking at it bnow I suspect that I was trying to be a bit different with some of my choices of courses, all top courses mind but maybe not the ones that would make my list today.

Once again, well done George.

Interesting to see how life has changed in the last six years - new language is bold and strkethrough indicates language I would now eliminate

Favorite ten courses I have played:

Rochester CC (Minnesota - Tillinghast)

Wakonda (Langford)
Ballybunion
Royal Dornoch
The Old Course
North Berwick

(Many other contenders)

Fond golf course memories

Waveland, Des Moines Iowa- a threadbare muni over 100 years old with 9 terrific holes and about 5 bad ones.

Westwood, Newton Iowa - small town course that welcomed me to the game, charged $40 a year for juniors and was always swarming with kids

Pasatiempo - I went there because it was cheaper than the Monterrey courses and found I liked it as much if not better.  I'll never forget hitting a running shot onto the second green in the summer.

Scotland - playing a seven round "world series" of matches against my father and having it come down to the seventh match at the Old Course.
Sutton Bay – playing in 35 degree temps in outing organized by RJ Daley
Newcastle – playing in 45 degree Fahrenheit temps with Phillip Gawith

George,

I'm concerned.

Is the t-shirt business that slow or has nerdism gone viral in the Pittsburgh area?

Someone needs to get you out to a golf course, any golf course.  An intervention may be required.  I am unfortunately tied up for the next month, but perhaps another GCAer in the western Pennsylvania area can help.
