Tiger Woods Golf Design, the firm of arguably golf’s greatest player and Beau Welling, announced today their newest project, The Marcella Club. The club is set within the mountainous terrain of Heber City, Utah a short distance from Salt Lake City.

The Marcella Club is the vision of the yet-to-be-built Marcella Mountain and Marcell at Jordanelle Ridge community, with a specific focus on luxury for the members and residents. As part of the development, the club will also have a private ski resort. Heber City is located just south of Park City, Utah, a notable ski town and host of the 2002 Winter Olympics. Progress has already begun, according to the club’s website.

TGR Design is headed up by Tiger Woods; however, most of the design work will be credited to his senior design associate, Beau Welling. Beau’s recent work includes the new East Course at PGA Frisco—a stunning new design built alongside the Gil Hanse West Course at the new Home of the PGA of America.
As listed on the plan below, the course will be one of the longest in Utah at more than 8,000 yards from the back markers (although Heber City is at elevation). No specific opening date was given, but it is the first of two courses expected at the private club.
In recent years, Tiger’s design firm has built a small portfolio of both public and private clubs around North America, beginning with Bluejack National, and more recently Payne’s Valley, located in the Ozark Mountains at Big Cedar Lodge resort.
