Golf’s essentially a simple ball, stick, hole game and a pastime that’s supposed to be fun.
It’s all the malarkey that surrounds the game that makes it complex and costly and leads to its less than favourable reputation within some elements of society.

I was wondering why they were putting with modern putters though. I would definitely bring a low-loft chipper if I every played here, and possibly a 3 iron if I didn't have one. Keeping the weight of the ball off the grass for as long as possible should be pretty beneficial. I suspect it's the same reason why folks like Bobby Jones had putters with quite a bit of loft.
