Richard, what did you think of Nevel Meade? I haven't been out there in 11 years; I assume everything about the place is still top notch (well, except for the big ass house that now looms behind the third green, which begs for infinity behind it rather than a McMansion).

How about Scottish Heights? That's along Route 119 in PA, correct? On the way to Punxsutawney? I've seen the sign, but we've always been on a mission from God.

2015 is looking much more promising. Have plans/invites to hit quite a few gems for the first time:

Streamsong Blue, Seminole, Merion, Oakmont, Sleepy Hollow, Yale, Forest Dunes, Belvidere, Oakland Hills, Glen View, as well as quite a few solid repeats.  New Year can't get here soon enough.

Yes it is but it becomes 219 near I-80.  Course is quite hilly and has only grass bunkers (unless they have changed I played it about 7 or 8 years ago.

I walked away from Chambers Bay with the same thought Anthony.  They have the ability to make that course extremely tough (especially if the weather kicks up).  Even better than that would be if they took advantage of how many options the layout provides and mixed up tees and pin positions.  I like seeing the best players in the world deal with variety, from hole-to-hole and day-to-day.  Variety is what catches my interest, and I think Chambers Bay can deliver it..

both are very well conditioned.  wish the water came into play before the 14th holes on the belfairs.  the range at berkeley is rather special.  no dime is spared there.
