Architecture, Education and football season

It is that time of the year when golf is at its best but the eyes of the country turn toward football. The Jones were Yale guys Art hills went to Michigan and Mich St. Where did the other Architects go to school. Naturally I am a LSU Tiger but being a nonarchitect it not relevant.

I thought Jones Sr. went to Cornell, I don't know about about the boys though.  Tom Doak also went to Cornell.

Two of the top modern architects, Nicklaus and Weiskopf, went to Ohio State (no hate mail, please!). ;)  I believe that Dr. Michael Hurdzan is also a Buckeye.

Hills went to Michigan State for undergrad.  Most people consider their undergrad their alma matter.  :)

My boss, Dan Maples went to Georgia, I'm a grad form Clemson.
They happen to meet Sat. and just as I have trouble getting strokes, Dan's been stingy with the points.

This being football season with everything competative and all, I noticed you were ahead of me 499 posts to 498.  This should tie us up.  To have some relevance, Mike Young is a Georgia guys as well I'm pretty sure.

I love playing in the fall on Saturday afternoon.  Nothing could be better than strolling around Holston Hills while everyone is at Neyland Stadium watching the Volunteers.  You can hear the stadium announcer and crowd with a favorable breeze. Fireworks after a UT score can always be heard.   An away game on TV even empties the course.  Oh yes.... the topic....  

Ron Prichard went to  Middlebury College (I think)...   Seth Raynor, Princeton ....  Charles Banks, Yale, later taught at Hotchkiss prep ....  Macdonald, attended University of Saint Andrews.... Donald Ross, University of H.K.,  same alma mater as Tom Morris

There is something magical about playing on a great course here in Wisconsin on a crisp fall Saturday or Sunday afternoon when the Badgers or Packers are playing.  Brown County Golf Course in fall splendor, almost all to yourself while the Pack entertains the unwashed masses... :P

Shooter and Ben got a semi taste of that atmosphere Friday twilight round when the Pack had a preseason game and we damn near had Lawsonia to ourselves.  Only thing was that it was hot and humid.  Gotta have that chill in the air and those leaves turning for the full measure... ;D 8)

I don't think it matters much where an archie went to school.  I think it is more important where they had their passion for design turned on...
