The Dixie Cup Resurrected: Sept 30 - Oct 2

Plans are in the works to resurrect The Dixie Cup in early October!

If everything goes according to plan, the event will take place in Aiken, SC during the first or second week in October and include a visit to Old Barnwell, Palmetto GC, and Aiken GC.

We are planning to invite 24 GCA’ers to participate.

Details on dates, costs, accommodation options, etc will be posted as soon as possible.

Watch this space for further information.


UPDATE: JUNE 16
Thanks to the hard work of Craig Disher, the dates and course lineup is set for our resurrected Dixie Cup gathering:

Sept 30: 1300 - Palmetto GC
Oct 1: 0950 - Aiken GC
Oct 2: 0930 - Old Barnwell

We are still working on additional details and will update this post when everything is finalized… including registration request information.

As mentioned before, we will be limiting this event to 24 participants.

WHOA! I did a Dixie Cup eons ago - Palmetto, Aiken, and Camden CC. Just checked - it was 2009. Great time.

This is fantastic news! Attended a pair of Dixie Cups, one at Long Shadow and the other at Aiken. They were terrific. Glad it is back.

I would love to attend. I live in Atlanta. Never have played in any GCA related event although I have wanted to. I also have never met anyone in person from this board, and certainly would love to.

I have fond memories of past Dixie Cups, please put me on the extremely interested list, and would be in if an invitation were extended to me.  This is an amazing collection of golf courses!!

The Dixie Cup will take place during the first week of October. The only date nailed down at this point is 10/2. The other two days will fill in around it. Reservation information will come as soon as we determine the full schedule.

I was planning on having shoulder surgery the last week of September but may need to move it back a week or two to attend a resurrected Dixie Cup. Thanks to all who are organizing.
