In the Club TFE forums, I got excited because they reviewed Orinda CC, which does not have returning nines, which means warming hut (theirs is at the 11th tee apparently).
I love a warming hut, and think they are experientially significant because they feel like part of the golf course experience, where is returning to the clubhouse feels like an intermission to me. I'm
much, much more likely to purchase concessions from a warming hut, and just really enjoy them as another way they can express the vibe of the course.
I think my favorite that I've experienced was at
Lawsonia, just because the experience pure Wisconsin (they have one even though they have returning nines). The food was absolutely on point, and definitely made me feel much better about not even coming close to the 10th green.
Anyway, are there any especially interesting ones (architecturally, experientially, or even just unique) you all know about? They are so few and far between in the states, I feel like I'd love a coffee table book about them.
