The 18th is a clear contender for finest finishing hole for PGA Tour Professional level matchplay ( or medal) competition. What's better?

It's a definite pucker tee shot and makes pros execute two solid shots.  For 18th holes I like Oakmont, Winged Foot, Oakland Hills 510yd par 4 uphill, Pebble and Merion.

I don't get all the dislike for WS.  It's as fine a venue as you will find for this type of competition.  WS is maximalism at its finest and a beautiful place to spend 4+ hours.  It's one of the most serene golf courses you will ever play.

Last time the PGA was there wasn’t short and left on 18 more swampy?

Nope. The 18th hasn't changed.
the interviewer asked beck how he felt "being the bob dylan of the 90's" and beck quitely responded "i actually feel more like the bon jovi of the 60's"

Nope. The 18th hasn't changed.

Several bunkers up the right were removed where many tee shots end up. It's where the DJ debacle of 2010 happened. It's a good move because players can now be tempted to go for the green...gulp.

I don't think they could have built it for 10M given the amount of fill trucked in. Even twenty five years ago !
