New Coore Crenshaw on Lake Martin , Alabama
« on: January 30, 2021, 12:30:33 PM »
Word is that the staking was done last week for the new Coore Crenshaw course by Russell Land/Willow Point dudes on Lake Martin, Alabama.  I had never been around there until a couple of years ago.  Great lake and Willow Point is a good golf course and community.....

Looks pretty.  With 40,000 acres I'm hoping homes will not be on the golf course but couldn't tell?

As Alabama isn't a hotbed for golf other than the RTJ trail, this is nice to see a new course there. Curious if anyone knows when the last new course that was built in Alabama?

Hope it doesn't go the way of the Capstone Club. The Hanse design that didn't survive (RIP).

Frankly, the golf market in AL is oversaturated, and the RTJ Trail has fairly large government subsidies that distort the market.
