There is a difference between "domed" and "falling away at all sides." Are the greens at RD domed? We've learnt that the the domes at P#2 were the result more of sand than intent; whilst others call it a signature of DRJjr, is it really?
No, not really. Ross's greens tended to be on little fill pads that fall away to the sides [in general, he also built many other kinds of greens], but the "domed" character is something that's evolved over time.
The greens at Royal Dornoch are not domed, either. They sit atop plateaux that are either natural, or sharpened up from a natural rise. But they are relatively large compared to most in Scotland, and I would not call them "crowned" at all.
