The only thing I am 100% sure of is that my 90 year old Dad died Sept 8th. It was his decision and his alone to eat bacon every day of his life.

My condolences John.  I know how big of a loss this was to you and your family.

And yes, many of us make some unwise decisions regarding our lifestyles.  Being 30 lbs. overweight with high blood sugar and elevated cholesterol levels, I still haven't been able to keep a safe distance from the table.  It is likely that my kids will say something similar when I'm gone.  The rationalization is one of quality of life over quantity.

Dad didn't die of Covid. He is not a stat or a tool for one side to use against the other. There are few things in my life that I am more proud of than the eight months I spent at his side making sure that would not happen.

Good for you , John. I am sure it was comforting for you Father to have you there. I am grateful for every minute I was with my Dad before he died in 2009.
Where there is no love, put love; there you will find love.
