Anyone else prefer Dunlop's proposal to today's result at Roaring Gap?

Don't get me wrong, I prefer today's to the past because I love skyline greens, but I prefer yesterday's detail work, or maybe lack thereof. Strictly aesthetics, obviously - no comments on playing characteristics.

George,

Absolutely nothing is different except for the trees. Today, we have a skyline view running 50 miles or so off the mountain, which I prefer too, but aesthetics is strictly a matter of opinion. In 2001, we had trees outlining part of the green and obstructing that view. My wife likes the trees.  Everything else, except for the use of stout, wooden flagsticks today, is the same. The "detail work", you mentioned, should be similar in all pictures. If it is not, then it is because Today's picture is not from the same place as the others. It is actually 200 yds. further out. Perhaps I should have shown the image of today from exact the same position as the first two?

Thanks for your comments!

It looked to me like the ground and bunkers next to the green had been redone to be smoother and cleaner. My preference is for the unkempt rustic look.

What do you know, Pat's right, I shouldn't comment based on photos! :)
