Just read this the other day. The City engaged a local "consultant" to help sort out the City's three golf facilities. One course, Greenbelt, was a very early (1976) Pete/Alice 9-hole layout that is quite charming. I walked around it a few years ago and enjoyed some of the features. Routing is also quite interesting.

Is that their "cross the creek 13 times in 9 holes course" they used to tell stories about?

This concept should be looked at by the "Hickory Hackers" !

What is that course down near the Greenbriar that is being used for the promotion of their game ?

Not if the 1976 date is right.

I looked on Google Earth and I think that one was the former Eldorado Country Club in Greenwood, IN, which now has the awkward name of Dye's Walk Country Club.

I just played at Greenbelt earlier this year.  The course crosses Haw Creek four times: first on the par 3 3rd hole, second on the par 4 6th hole, third on the par 5 7th hole and the fourth and final time on the par 4 8th hole.

This is a sad loss, I was surprised how good this early Dye course was.

One of my best friends lives in Columbus. I’ll always remember the power line hole!

It goes by Greenbelt, and was formerly Columbus CC — the city acquired it in 1974 and two years later the Dyes (Pete and Alice) gave it a full remodel.
