WT Sherman. Love him just for saying, re: Grant: "He stuck with me when I was crazy, and I stuck with him when he was drunk". He'd handle the pressure just fine; but still, Jeff's Georgia team would be hard to beat.

Sherman did beat the Georgia team once pretty convincingly.

Jeff does not have a legit D player. You don't want Capone walking behind you at the banquet table with ball bat in hand.

My version of "Team Indiana":

A.  Bob Hamilton-  Won 10 professional titles, including the 1944 PGA Championship, and one of the best gamblers of all-time.

B.  Larry Bird-  A good player, and one of the greatest clutch athletes in the history of sports.

C.  Alice Dye-  One of the greatest Indiana Amateur golfers, and her getting to play the red tees will help our team.

D.  David Letterman-  Just to keep everyone loose.

should've added myself -no doubt my opening tee shot would've sent Capone off in search of lower hanging fruit.Used to own Knox anyway in HS :)

usually good for a birdie on 9 and 18 as well

Think the Jersey boys would be tough. Besselink was one of the best wedge players ever and Montefusco can hit it a mile. Bud Abbott underrated and the Chairman of the Board had a caddie who was better than Oddjob.

I had a couple of them on my radar...unlike the Boss I think Southside might have some game. Can't argue with any of those picks.

What does the Judge say - "winner winner chicken dinner"?
Ohio was tough to beat. Georgia too. But CA seems to have done it.
Though, if you're going to use Bob Hope as a Californian, you might as well replace him with Bing Crosby.

Georgia

1.Captain- Larry Nelson-who would show the blind PGA of America that a Viet Nam veteran with three majors, a Top record as a RC participant, and an overall class guy could easily dispatch 49 other teams far more easily than our recent crop of inept softy Captains and players, who haven't been able to dispatch one opponent off home soil.

2. Bobby Jones-plays with hickories but provides the corn whiskey

3.Laura (Mays) Coble-High School classmate and GA Hall of famer

4.Jeff Knox-Fellow Jr. golf fellow competitor in Augusta area  and Masters marker who regularly holds his own with the pros at 57

Love that list, just wish we could get Jim Dent on it.

First thought is...is it possible that only a few of you have ever actually played in an ABCD deal?

Second thought is...can I really take Bill Hyndman over Arnold Palmer for the A spot? Two reasons; Saving Arnold for George Pazin and the Hyndman Vegas' story locks him in.

B Player - Betsy King grew up 20 miles outside of Philly...HoFamer...but she'll have to play from the back tees here.

C Player - Will Smith - natural rhythm makes golf an assumed skill - clairvoyance makes it life essential in a killer Calcutta

D Player - JOE MONTANA! - Want to give him 22 blows to play with?

1 pro only(and Nelson's not coming off), though I whiffed on ABCD part
4 A's
Could throw in a little Phillip McCormick from My Patch gambling days-
who used to play regulalry against a foursome of A's and win and shot 63 in the final round to win the Eastern Amateur

My all Patch team-all who called the Patch home at some point(with all due respect to Whitey, Bubba, Bomb and Knuckles)

You might consider switching Ditka for Montana. Back in the mid 80's I was banned for life from Pine Meadow, a fine public course in Chicago, because Ditka's wife complained that my group slowed her down. I took the bullet for my boss and received a fine promotion soon after.
