Whacking Namesakes
« on: March 07, 2019, 09:52:55 AM »
Hitting the bent pine at Bent Pine caused me to wonder if I had hit any other namesakes along the way. I'm sure I dumped one in the Dismal River.

I've sent my share of balls into the Desert Forest at Desert Forest.

I've hit a Boulder at The Boulders.

I've been in the pines at Castle Pines (North).

I've been in the walking stick (cactus) at Walking Stick.

Lastly, I did hit two (! :( ) onto the beach at Pebble Beach. But both were on the tenth hole, so that's Carmel Beach, not really a particularly pebble-y beach. Maybe still counts?

 8)  Well not sure about what TOC's namesake would be, but Ms Sheila did smartly hit the English lion painted on side of the "fake railroad shed" at TOC #17, square in the noggin after joking about the probability of doing it!  Gave all players and caddies a very good laugh!

i took it over the sheds/hotel... almost birdied... what's so hard about that hole??? ::) :o :P

If someone hits it in the hidden creek at Hidden Creek I'll be both terrified and impressed all at the same time.

Well just using the places I've worked
Jones Creek-don't know which creek that is on the course

Palmetto Dunes-check
Long Cove-Check
Sleepy Hollow-don't think so
Blue Monster-check
Atlantic-not possible
The Bridge-possible but you 'd have to really suck and be pretty long

Too many Riversides and Riverviews to mention.
Some days you play golf, some days you find things.

I've hit it in Bodega Harbour at Bodega Harbour. I guess the British spelling is to appear more erudite.

I have been in or under the Torrey Pines at Torrey Pines. I have lost balls in rustic canyons at Rustic Canyon. Too many canyon and creek courses to count. I did hit a Sandpiper at Sandpiper once. He flew away. ::)
I love golf, the fightin irish, and beautiful women depending on the season and availability.

Not exactly a namesake but did the Tillinhast double a few years back of making par after hitting the clubhouse on Philly Cricket #2 and the maintenance barn on Baltimore CC Five Farms #6.
