I'll cough up 18. Will give up the Saturday Mashie round, that still leaves one Mashie round on Sunday. Will bring some Oregon pinot noir. Afterwards heading to Ozarks National and maybe the Tiger course if open by then.

18 on Saturday at PD and 18 on Sunday at PD is plenty for me. I'd be happy to give up the 2nd 18 at PD on Saturday.
Thanks.

Due to the extensive wait list we're trying to get as many people as possible to experience Prairie Dunes.

We have 36 holes planned on Saturday of which only one 18 is "official" Mashie competition. Is there anyone confirmed as a participant that only wants to play those 18 holes on Saturday, and willing to give up their second 18 to someone on the wait list? I'll start it off putting myself in that category.

That would enable a few people on the waitlist to play PD on Saturday, maybe work in another course nearby, and take part in the dinner Saturday night.

Shout out your name if 18 holes/day is enough golf for you.

Ryan - this is really cool and much appreciated from us waitlisters!  Not sure if I'll be one of the lucky ones to play or not, but regardless, I really appreciate the work you're putting into this.

This will be a great event..... PD is a great course and with the addition of more cottages a real destination.  I played here this summer and VERY right with the native grasses framing the fairway.  Enjoy. ;D

Thanks for accommodating fellas. Vaughn and I should have something out before New Years on the agenda and deposits, as well as details on opening up that 2nd round Saturday to any wait listers who can count on at least one round at the Dunes.

I have not played it but have heard Cottonwood Hills under new ownership has improved and Sand Creek Station is only 30 minutes away. Plus there are numerous courses around Wichita that may be worth a look.

After thinking this through I don't think I need a second 18 on Saturday, as they say the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.

I'm on wait list and would likely only make the trip out from PA if I could play two rounds at PD. It does not really matter to me the timing of the two rounds (2 in one day or two different days) and I would gladly play some other rounds in the area based on the any eventual logistics. Would love to have the opportunity to join in if this can work out.

Hi All,

I know Vaughn is still committed to getting details out to everyone but if you're excited like I am I thought an update on this post was due.

Regarding costs - 2 rounds of golf Saturday and Sunday will be $300, carts extra. If you are playing 36 on Saturday then the replay rate is $110

For lodging, 2 nights, sharing a room will be $260 total. We have all 3 lodges and 4 of the rooms are solo King beds. To keep it simple for accounting we're going to have a lottery system to see who gets these rooms. If your name isn't pulled and you really want your own room, I suggest you reach out to the lucky person and negotiate $$ privately.

Saturday night we'll have a sit down dinner and I've invited Colton Craig, course architect and founder of the Perry Maxwell Society to give a talk. The meal is a choice of steak or salmon, salad, 2 sides and dessert, coffee and tea for approximately $75/person. Alcohol will be available as a cash bar and they accept credit cards.

All costs above include tax and service charge. So the all in price should be $750-$635 depending on replay. This has to go on my account so when Vaughn sets up the deposit and final payments he will include my PayPal account info.
Additional meals and drinks will be on your own and the club allows cash, charge or club chargebacks.

September is a glorious time to play there, so pray for no rain and otherwise we should have perfect conditions.

Looking forward to seeing/meeting you all

Kudos to Ryan for hosting and should be a great day.  Played there last August and alittle balmy, but it definitely exposed my crooked driving with the whispy heather almost impossible to find at the time. Also we really loved the Amish restaurant called the Carriage Crossing in Yoder.  Wow been a while since I have had the pleasure of an Amish style meal.

Ryan,

When you have a chance could you let us know what the approximate timing is for golf on Saturday afternoon and especially Sunday morning? Would need to look into flights in and out on Sunday.

Thanks!

Thanks, Ryan.

Just booked my flights! Can't wait to get down there.

Please put me down for a room Friday/Saturday nights. As well as 36 on Saturday.

Looking outside the window here in Minnesota, we just got about 10" of snow and are in the middle of a blizzard. Nice to think about golf and especially golf at PD!

Thanks for hosting and organizing!

Very much looking forward to it.

I would also like to stay onsite Friday and Saturday.  I believe I already ceded my Saturday late round in the interest of being old.  I would like to sign up for the Saturday supper as well.

Thanks guys!  This is my only trip this year and I am so looking forward.

I'd like to be on-site Friday and Saturday, and playing 36 Saturday.

For anyone coming in earlier, I'm going to try to arrange a game in Wichita on Thursday PM, then do Sand Creek Station sometime Friday.

Thanks again for all the efforts in setting this up! Should be epic.
