Re: OT - How about that USA Women's Hockey Gold Medal!!!

From a Canadian perspective I must say that I preferred the game four years ago when Canada overcame a 2-0 deficit in the third period and then won in OT.

Ya' don't say!  LOL

What a game it was in Sochi.  The puck hit the post of the empty goal.  Inches!  Kevin Dineen calm on the bench.  The ladies pulling it out.  Best forward in the world with two more goals to add to her Vancouver heroics.

Greatest active rivalry in team sports.

I get it, but this not a well thought out statement:

What do you have that compares?  Entering this Olympics the Canadian side had won the last 4 gold medals and their American counterparts the last 4 World Championships.

Every time they play it is an even matchup with results toggling back and forth, often needing overtime.

The finishes have been epic, with the last two Olympic installments needing overtime and even one shootout.

Star players like the Lamoreaux twins and Poulin rise to the occasion and make big plays on the biggest stage.

The two teams have met in the final of every World Championship ever contested.

This rivalry is firing on all cylinders.  Nothing is missing.  Nothing else I know of is like this.  Admittedly I'm not versed in rugby and cricket, but I can't think of another active rivalry in team sports that compares.
