IF you do go down the landfill route, defo make sure there’s someone on-site constantly checking the quality of the material. It’s amazing what kind of crap (sometimes, literally) Contractors will try and bring in...

There is probably environmental reasons for this not being possible, but I think the finish would be far smoother if 17 were a par 3 over the river, thus shortening the 18th in the process...which solves the issue of the horrible walk back to 17 tee and helps with the uphill nature of 18.  The big problem is what happens to 16 green?  A very cool green site that if anything should be made larger.  I spose it is possible to place a tee to the left of the green and play from near the river to a 17th green on the far side of the river.  To me, this end of the course is a serious let-down for Reddish Vale.

Amazing Sean. It was a question is was going to put to Duncan. A 180 yard par 3 hole back over the river and lengthened 7th. Not knowing the course I was just wondering how much of a problem all the crossing holes are, also the quality of holes being lost. The plus side is the waste recovery is expanded into a £400,000 income.

Adrian

17 is a good hole, but not good enough to justify the walk back...and it is a dangerous walk.  I think an excellent new 17th could be built that would quickly get people to forget about the old 17th.  I suspect extra yards and a shot to par are deemed quite important to the powers that be so I highly doubt the concept would even be entertained.

Looks like Duncan got himself into a bit of hot water with this thread.  I notice the link is gone!

Based on the title, I was hoping for something more like what I'd see in that movie theatre we used fake ID's to sneak into.

If that's what you're after, "boobychristmas.com" was passed around a group of club pros and superintendents last week while I was southern (kinda) Florida. NSFW, I imagine… It spread to about ten people seated nearby me in about ten minutes.  :P

I assume there’s a good reason why this post has disappeared. I only had time for a quick glance at the proposed changes (to a course which is on my list of ones to play in 2018) and was going to look at them properly.  Sorry to find them gone.
