Does anyone know how this course is fairing in these first few years...?
Play numbers? How many rounds? Change in rates? Anyone privy to legit business numbers of the thing?
Forgetting the large gorilla in the room, I'm curious to know as a matter of golf course business... many here, including myself, didn't think $150-250 rounds, $36 per fanny carts and $10.00 hot dogs would fly after some initial months of curiosity.
I looked at the 7 day advance times for the next week (ignoring tomorrow which is/will be a well-advertised washout) and I must say, one nearly has the pick of the litter. Of the 55 hours (broken into 10 minute increments) of possible tee times from Sunday May 14 to Friday May 19 (an outing on Tuesday limits it to 55) there are less than 10 total hours spoken for. 3.8 of those ten are on Friday morning from 7:40 - 11:20. There are 5 times (not hours, times) spoken for on Wednesday, all day.
Does such a sample of a mid-May week (minding the good business of a Tuesday outing) constitute any corroborating evidence concerning the prosperity of this venture?
Those figures seem meager to me, but perhaps the business-minded out there know more and can demonstrate how that is OK or normal for a newer course; or maybe walk-up play is stronger than I think.
The real numbers, if anyone knows them, would be nice to measure against this immediate sample.
cheers
