Garland,

I agree this is a problem in many cases in tech.  A good coder often does not make a good manager in this profession.

However, I've worked with and know several capable people who excel at Managing, just as much as they did in the trenches.

looking at these lines of code from the page source:

</li> <li class="last"><a href="http://golfclubatlas.com/courses-by-country/">Courses By Country</a></li>
         <li class="last"><a href="http://golfclubatlas.com/feature-interview/">Feature Interview</a></li>
         <li class="last"><a href="http://golfclubatlas.com/the-next-fifty/">The Next Fifty</a></li>
         <li class="last"><a href="http://golfclubatlas.com/in-my-opinion/">In My Opinion</a></li>
         <li class="last"><a href="http://golfclubatlas.com/best-of-golf/">Best of Golf</a></li>
         <li class="last"><a href="http://golfclubatlas.com/contributions/">Contributions</a></li>
             </ul>

and wondering why one more line that lists Discussion Group won't fit into the navigational structure of the primary (Red Back) menu of the new build?

Ronald,

That would be a good spot for it... in addition to the bottom of every page of the forum like it used to be.

But perhaps these links were removed intentionally, to get us to explore other areas of the site.  I don't have access to the stats, but I'm guessing the DG links get at least 95% of the clicks on this site.

 8) cheesed or not, it doesn't seem like folks are having much trouble posting or navigating an extra click or two..

I would like to see the link to the DG Table of Contents at bottom center, between the < previous and next> links

Apples to oranges, isn't it? Websites that have discussion boards, along with other content, often generate most of their hits from those discussion boards -- threads come and go, sometimes take off, or die, or wander in any number of directions. All for the good, I'd say -- but I have to look frequently to see where they are going. The rest of this website is incredibly useful -- I've probably linked to George Bahto's definitive piece on Macdonald/Raynor templates dozens of times -- but not nearly as dynamic (and things like the Best of Golf, aimed at fostering a bit more of that to the site, seem to have tailed off).

Other parts of this website are still pretty well-organized, and presented clearly and easy to use. Not so the Discussion Board, which as Sean Arble alluded to, appears to have been designed for ease-of-use by the software coders/designers, as opposed to the end users.

The crap upgrade has become slightly less crappy.  I now have "Discussion Group" in my header...yippity yip.

Although the rich text deal is still bewildering and it is hard to understand why more space isn't allowed for larger pix.  Ran...you have to sort this out because a lot of people spent a lot of time to frame pix properly.  To allow their work to be spoiled by size reduction is quite harsh.

Make people work to post their pics, that way they just might post their best instead of 50 for an 18 hole course. If it is work to take a golf picture you shouldn't have to give it away. I would like to see Ran eliminate a vowel so people would have to think longer and try harder when they write. How about no a Monday's?
