Come on Kalen, you attended KP in June in Canada. March is not required. April is more common.

I could look at a few different options, but would feel most comfortable arranging one here in Utah...just not sure how much interest there would be. 

April is usually a terrific month here weather wise and I can think of a few cart ball courses I'd work in just for you Garland!!

We only got 8 players for a US Open venue in Seattle. This year we had the #86 golf course in the US and an outstanding value and only one person, me flies in! I seriously doubt you would have good participation at a Utah event, simply judging by recent participation rates. The event seems to draw better in March, latter in the year just doesn't seem to work out, even though we are assured of better weather.

I think Gray's proposal for Bandon next March has the best chance for success. I know I would be all in for that one, the rates will be low and we are assured of early tee times so we can do 36 holes. We may even do Sheep Ranch on the get away morning. Sounds like a no brainer to me. As always weather in the MN is a roll of the dice.

With my trip to Buda blowing the golf budget, I don't think I will be attending KP next year. I must apologize to Gray, as there are probably many out there chomping on the bit for the chance to take me down a notch or two in a match. Sorry if this affects your registration Gray. Watched some yesterday, the course seems in great shape. Gray, you should have had us flip nines at the KP, my brain is still spinning trying to convert from 7 to 16, 8 to 17 ect! The winner from Duke sure out putted everyone else. Looking forward to see how the men fare next week.

yes for sure the hole numbers are mind boggling for all familiar with the course...TV and drama made that happen yet with split tees for most thus far...it hasn't necessarily played out that way

Yeah, but it doesn't say it's going to be on TV. 
I would have been confused though with the hole numbers changing so it's probably just as well.

There sure was a lot of drama trying to figure out which team would finish 8th and be eligible for match play. Two schools that made match play who weren't at the top of the rankings were Oregon and Washington. Sure shows how home cooking works, dealing with familiar surrounds, grasses and the like. I didn't know that "18" was the toughest hole out there.

Stanford, Duke, UCLA and Washington make the semifinals. It is a PAC-12 course, after all.

Seems all the hoopla surrounding BYU and no Sunday rounds was much ado about nothing.  They finished dead last among 24 teams ...

If they make it next year, they should tell em...."play on Sunday or don't bother taking the flight"...

Those girls were so painfully slow it wasn't funny. I watched a lot during the singles as there was a girl from The U in second. Since the team did not qualify, I do not think they showed her hit a single shot. One girl from Washington made Jim Furyk's putting look tame. If that is the future of golf, we are all doomed. Put them on a timer for crying out loud.

complaints about TV coverage are a sure sign of senility,

the Head Coach of 35 years was there every step of the way for UW, additionally the USGA was timing pace of play (4:30) for 18

the rub is that with player's keeping their pre-shot routines for the sake of competition, they frequently eschew normal golf diplomacy and leave greens early etc... to get to the next tee

the blame and responsibility always falls on the previous generation for the current or future problems, no doubt

       Great visuals of the course, which certainly played in the PAC-12 favor. It is a lot easier to transition out of narrow corridors into wide vistas than vice versa. Sort of had a Ryder/Curtis/President Cup feel, That was probably more pressure these girls have played under (except for Stanford). It certainly validates the change to match play for the team championship some years ago.

       Grey, is there still room to ramp up green speeds for the men, or was Wednesday afternoon topped out?
Which par 5s drop to par 4s for the men, I'm guessing the second ones on each side (7/17 as shown on TV)?

      Congratulations to UW, spectacular play, wedge play, and clutch putting from a team anchored by three freshmen.

I Wish they would have gone with this format for the Olympics.  I watched the end of the stroke play qualifier and the finish basically from the hole out.  I cannot think of a more entertaining golf event in the last five years.
