Serious question, can I be on Team East? I'm living here, but I'll always identify myself as an Ohioan (even when it's embarrassing to do so). Each of the last two years, I've been forced to play on the West because they don't show up. Just once, I'd like to play on the right team.

If anyone is interested in playing elsewhere during that week, I'd be interested as well (depending on work).

Is it time for the annual monthlong debate of who's on which team? The Reigning Champion East Team has five players returning by my count: Finn, Thurman, Sturges, Steele, and Fry. We also have Doak returning from the 2013 team, and I understand that Hoover's contract with the West expired last year and the East has offered a huge qualifying sheet to him that the West is unlikely to match after a few years of alleged tampering.


There are a lot of geographic Easterners attending this event who have played for Team West in years past. The East welcomes defectors who are willing to fully renounce their loyalties to the hour-behind former empire.

Long round trip from MSP but it is worth a stop if you're driving by -- not sure what that makes it on the Doak scale. Hopefully I'll have posted an overview by then. Shoot me a PM if interested.

I think this may only affect Thurman, but if you have to drive up 65 to get to Chicago to MSP, avoid north of Indy and find an alternate route (probably across to Champaign, IL). Just north of Lebanon, there was a bridge that sunk and they've closed 50 miles of I-65 between Indianapolis and Chicago. Don't know if they'll get that done before the end of September.

Speaking from experience, that detour won't totally derail your trip, but it will add some time. Keep in mind that coming from Indianapolis, you could also take I-74W over to Bloomington, IL and then take I-39N.
