Golf in Japan

My son (9 handicap) hopes to be in Kyoto in October, with some spare time.  I imaging that there would be absolutely no possibility of his playing golf there.  However, if I'm wrong, how does one set about it and where is worth playing?

Mark- I know nothing, but if you have any military connections I know they run quite a few courses there. The reason I know this is that the GM at Pinon use to manage them. If you are that desperate you can call him at 505-326-6066. His name is Dick Medford. He would certainly have a clue as to where your son might be able to golf.

There were a series of posts on this subject started by our beloved Bob Huntley 6 to 8 months or so ago. I do not know how to search effectively in the Yabba world.
