How does one post a scan on GCA ??

    Can someone instruct me how to post a scan , an image on GCA ??

Pete,

The easiest thing to do is open an account (free) at photobucket.com and upload the scan to the site.  Once complete, it is a simple one-click to copy image and imbed it into your GCA post.

Pete, I just did a quick video on how I posted the above picture here on GCA.  I already had a Photobucket account, so first you need to get a (free) account setup and upload your picture to it.

Note I should have re-sized the picture a bit to fit here on GCA, but I skipped that for simplicity.

Can it be done in batch mode? Seems so tedious to do one at a time. If that's the only way, a tip o' the hat to those of you that have done photo tours!

I actually have no idea....Sean Arble or Mark Saltzman or one of the other photo tour folks would have to weigh in.  But generally, I believe these photo tours are labor/labour intensive efforts (unless they are just photos without commentary).

Might be worth reaching out to professor Bausch as I'll bet he would know.

I can batch load onto Photobucket, but not onto GCA.com.  I am no techno geek, but sizing the photos to 800 is a pain in the ass.  I don't know why (maybe space?) Ran doesn't make his software match the upload sites...its pretty silly if he wants people to post pix.  Anyway, the uploading issues is one reason why I tend not offer gobs of pix.

Great tutorial post. Well done. You don't only learn about golf on GCA! Took me ages to figure out what to do and even longer to know about re-sizing photos by using [img width=800] at the start of the code sequence so the photo doesn't overlap the screen - although I only leant this myself after being told so by other posters!

Quiz time - I know - and really like - the course in your 1st photo - 16th green to the right, 17th green in the distance - but where are photos 2 and 3 of?

 8) semi-batch loading ...  with a little forethought scheme

you batch upload from your pc directory into photobucket and cut and paste  the name into address into a note o wordpad or word doc...   and if you've numbered or serialized the end of the names for the photos in advance, simply cut and paste and then edit the end of the names in the doc...

cut and past that doc with any narrative into your reply in gca.com and voila
