TEP

I was thinking of The Ocean Course at Kiawah.

Do you approve?

Nothin' could be finer than to be in Carolina!  Fall means crisp mornings, afternoon highs in the 70s, sweetgrass blooming and perfect golf conditions...  The Ocean Course reopens September 1st.  Greens came in wonderfully.  Pete Dye altered the fairway bunkering on No. 9, No. 11 and No. 18 making for some great new options.  By October 1, when we start mowing the greens to optimal heights, we'll have the finest conditions in the Southeast!

Shel,

If you're looking for someone to fill out a card for a roadtrip to BWR, look here.  The golf season starts Sept. 1!!

Great Fall Courses:
I concur with Shivas on the River Course at Blackwolf Run. Played last Oct. when it was a bit cold, but the salmon are extraordinary and the colors are exquisite. Would not rule out the Meadows course either.

Pinehurst No. 2 (obviously!) crowds are virtually non-existent in early November. No. 4 is a treat, too, even at that time of year.

Have been to this place in several years, but Bowling Green in Milton, NJ (semi-private) in the fall is glorious. Underrated layout and inexpensive.

The General, Barnsley Gardens resort, Adairsville, GA. Peaceful, no houses, great collection of par-3s, back nine is incredible. George Fazio design.

Crosswater course at Sunriver Resort in Oregon. Great anytime of the year but gets virtually no play in the Fall. A must! Meadows course is damn good, too, but avoid the Woodlands.

Any course in the mountains of North Carolina in October. Grandfather is majestic then. Linville Ridge, while not the track that Grandfather is, offers breathtaking views of the Blue Ridge mtns. in their full colorful glory.

Nothing could be finer...

Actually...living here in Dubuque on the bluffs of the Mississippi River there are a number of nice courses that have rolling terrain and plenty of trees for fall leaf viewing...it's finding your ball that is the hard part!
