How about a hole that demands 5 or 6 iron off the tee and regardless of what comes after.
North Berwick west does and the jury is still out for me on that hole. Is there an option to take any other club, really? It was foggy and the caddy assured me categorically not. Which I didn't like.
But the approach shot is so thrilling that it makes up for it in spades.
Which hole, Brian?
1? Or was the caddy just looking for an easy day??
I've heard of people driving the green! It's a low percentage shot and usually first of the day straight into the prevailing wind.
(EDIT Just seen Ally's post
. that means between them Ally and Bryan Izatt have an eclectic best score of five under par on the combined first and last hole. No wonder people say the course is easy. assuming of course you didn't whiff the putt?
)
Best to treat it as practice shot and then a fun one. At least it's usually a mid iron (depending on wind strength) and then a short one rather than the other way round.
