I'd guess rugby playing surfaces don't need to be quite as fine as golf greens, but just goes to show turfcare professionals meet similar problems no matter the sport they support.

20+ years ago golf courses in the San Francisco area were attempting to combat nematodes using crushed oyster shells, which contained by compound damaging to nematodes. The problem is nematodes develop a tolerance to these kinds of treatments rather quickly.

David,
My second strongest memory of playing/walking Pasatiempo is of the Super meeting us on the second green to show us the nematode damage..!

PS the first memory is of a great friend playing the course in horrendous conditions for a particular reason...
