How bad is it?  Is everyone ok?  Any golf courses impacted?

Jason,

I think they have had it pretty bad in the south but here in the Highlands we had a bit of rain and a light breeze.

Seems to have hit the south coast around Dorset quite hard, and then moved north east. Here in Oxford we basically escaped it - there was some rain, but nothing torrential, and no great wind - but it's smashed into south and west of London. I imagine there'll be a lot of trees down on the Surrey courses.

In Newcastle we barely even got rain.  It does sound as if the South East got it worst but nothing like the 1987 storm.
In June I will be riding the first three stages of this year's Tour de France route for charity.  630km (394 miles) in three days, with 7800m (25,600 feet) of climbing for the William Wates Memorial Trust (https://rideleloop.org/the-charity/) which supports underprivileged young people.

Midlands golf seems to be as per usual for this time of year. My sympathy though, to any and all along the south coast etc who have suffered.
All the best

I was staying at my fathers and woke up to the fence down and the garden shed destroyed by a neighbours tree that had been blown over. A girl died 5 miles away when a tree crushed her mobile home.

The gusts were not as strong as when we tried to play Western Gailies - up to 88mph according to their wind recorder!

not too bad in London Jason. They had been softening us up for about three days beforehand and saying it would be worst storm in 25 years - i don't think it lived up to that billing.

Here in NL we were hit pretty good. Sunday our tournament was cancelled mid way through as the balls were rolling uphill on the greens.

Monday I made it out on my weekly commute to Munich early on the 7:00 am flight with winds of 100 km/hr and an hour later everything was shut down as the main part hit which predicted winds up to 130 km/hr. Lots of trees falling over. I'm still hoping for that 200 mile/hr wind that comes and knocks down the remaining trees at my course. Fingers crossed, but I've not heard the good news yet.
