For this coming Sunday (13th) we are set at Mistwood with the 10:00 and 10:10 tee times. Hopefully that works OK for those that want to play as I can't get away any earlier this Sunday.  The green fee is $90 w/cart and over the phone I was told $75 to walk, although their website only advertises their "carts included price".

There are currently three of us confirmed (Jack Crisham, John McCarthy, and moi) with a couple of others that have expressed interest in playing on the 13th. Anyone else that may be interested, just let me know as there is plenty of room...thanks!

$90 for Mistwood? in October?  I really hope that renovation was money well spent because the old iteration certainly didn't have that value.

Yep, their off-season rates don't start until the 15th.

I'm going into it with an open mind, besides $75 or $90 for a round with a few GCAers is a bargain, right  ;D

Certainly, and if I was available I'd like to see it and meet you guys.  Just surprised to see that number as it didn't impress me much in the past, and I believe you can walk a course like Heritage Bluffs for under $30 this time of year.

I'll say it before Jud does:

For last year's outing:  $18 to play Spring Valley. And prices haven't changed!

Big spenders this year:  $38 (with a cart!) at Kankakee Elks:

Maybe we can get Matt to negotiate a non-cart rate.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if you get a better rate at the Elks.

I'm 95% sure Mike Boudreau is still the superintendent there.  He played High School and Junior college golf with my dad as they both were getting turfgrass educations.  Really good guy (and great player in his day) who has been around Kankakee Elks for much of his life.  I'm not sure if he's studied the history of the architecture, but might be worth a call to see if he's around to chat for a few minutes that day.

I think it is safe to say that few courses can touch Spring Valley's play all day rate. That said, I think the $38 at Kankakee Elks is well within the no-haggle zone.

Thanks for the info about Mike Boudreau I just read his bio on the club's website. He sounds like an interesting guy and an excellent player to boot.

Just bumping to see if there is any additional interest. It would be great to get one more for this Sunday (Mistwood) to round out our group. If anyone is up for it, just let me know...

I am coming up to Chicago to see my brother run in the marathon...I was hoping to get out for a round with some gca'ers, especially after seeing so many of the Chicago crew at the MW Mashie.  Unfortunately for me, you guys are playing during the marathon, so I will have to wait until next time...definitely coming up to Chicago in the Spring.

Hope you guys have a great round.

I'm trying to make this Sunday work, but if you've already got a full foursome, then don't worry about it.  Still may try to make the 26th work.

Scott,

We'd love for you to join us. We're off at 10 a.m. so we'll see you there!

Bill,

We do have two tee times, so there is room for you. As you know though, 5 is a terrible number. Maybe we can get at least 1 more taker for Sunday. Even if we have to go off as 3 and 2 (the twosome would probably be paired up with others), that would be OK.

If anyone else would like to join us, please let me know...thanks!

To those playing tomorrow, if you have someone you'd like to bring along, feel free to do so. We currently have 5, so adding at least 1 more to get to 6 would help the numbers. If not, no big deal. We can go off 3 & 2. Just try to let me know if you're bringing anyone...thanks!
