If a trre falls on a golf course
« on: October 01, 2013, 10:36:41 PM »
does anyone hear it? I ask because we lost a fearsome tree that guarded/blocked the left half of the fairway from the back tees.

There is a bunker right and gunch and they do imply a draw works best but form the back tees it becomes really pronounced. I speculate that all the WEB.com players who played a draw bitched enough to force a clandestine removal for if Fazio knew the tree was there when he built the tees he would have dealt with it.

So what are the issues here? Do pro's rule? Should members be upset that visual cue not in play but framing the hole is gone. Should the archie have been consulted? What is proper protocol for tree removal of which a definite part of the hole is changed (ie the eisenhower tree , etc)

tree was located just behind the left lake between it and the tee but was tall enough that many balls could be hit below the branches into the lake
"Golf is happiness. It's intoxication w/o the hangover; stimulation w/o the pills. It's price is high yet its rewards are richer. Some say its a boys pastime but it builds men. It cleanses the mind/rejuvenates the body. It is these things and many more for those of us who truly love it." M.Norman

I hated that tree. Clem Dog was dancing in the parking lot the day it was removed. My personal experience has been improved every day since.

I recently saw a guy wearing a Dismal River hat and a Victoria National shirt at Home Depot purchasing a chain saw ;D Coincidence?
