My apologies for not providing more info in the post proper. Also, I fully realize it is an expensive endeavor...but, it is a RARE opportunity to play a VERY private and well-respected course - both historically and architecturally.
And, just to tout my school a bit, Lovett is a very forward-thinking school in many ways, but perhaps most significantly, in terms of sustainability. We have our own power-generating wind turbine, our used cooking oil is converted to biodiesel on site to power our maintenance John Deere Gators, we don't use trays in the cafeteria to save tens-of-thousands of gallons of water daily, our new baseball/softball facility just won a national award for it's ability to collect and store 50,000 gallons of rainwater (one of Trump's GC's won the other award!), we TerraCycle, recycle, and compost our own waste daily and use said compost in our gardens which produce many of the herbs & vegetables our kitchen staff uses, our new middle school is Gold LEAD Certified, we are the only school in America that owns a cloud forest in South America - Siempre Verde is a protected preserve and research center comprised of 825 acres in Ecuador, etc. etc. While many on this site might not put a lot of stock in sustainability - many of our more conservative members don't seem to yet buy into Global Warming!
- it is vital that we educate our younger generation in an effort to be kinder to the planet. And while we are a very good school with solid academics and an excellent athletics program, I think the sustainability piece is the most important thing we do.
So, I would love to hear that some of you are playing in the Lionbacker's tournament which will support our athletics program.
Cheers,
Will
