I have taken the budget option also and booked a bed in Kings Lynn - all helps to keep the costs down and seems perfectly sensible esp as we don't tee up at Woodhall until lunchtime. Is Kings Lynn really a hot bed of crime and debauchery? Why have I not been there!!

Brian,

I recently stayed at the Petwood and can vouch for it - nice rooms, and good food and breakfast. Reasonably priced ~£100 for dinner, room and breakfast - single room. The dinner was from a reduced menu but good all the same.

Definitely an option as again we don't tee up at Seacroft until 10:00am - although we'd need to be early doors for breakfast as if I remember rightly they don't serve until 8:00am (would need to check).

There is always the possibility of staying in Boston the Saturday night at a.n.other Premier Travel Inn on the Skeggy side of town? If trouble should be found the Pilgrim Hospital is next door.

I'm currently in lengthy negotiations regarding a trip to Bandon, which if agreed, will exclude me from any golf between now and the end of 2014. However if I fail, I'd like to join for the Sat/Sun element...

Can I be kept in the loop? Either way have fun...!

Looks like you can count me in.
Thursday - all day at Mildenhall, including lunch
Friday - 36 at Brancaster, flexible on format
Saturday - 18 (or more) at Woodhall Spa
Sunday - I'm not 100% sure on Seacroft. May need to head back to the states. Will confirm by early next week if that's ok?

Sorry this is so late, but if there is any room for me on either the Saturday or Sunday (or both) I should love to play, if you'll accept an old buffer who is getting worse - they dropped me to 21.4 in the annual handicap revisions. When you are at Seacroft make sure to see the MacKenzie original sketch of his proposals for the links which I think hangs in the boardroom. It was rejected by the club because he didn't use enough of the new land the club was acquiring. It is torn in half, but framed and perfectly visible. There aren't many surviving plans, so one that was never constructed is very unusual. If anyone can photograph it without getting reflections from the glass protecting it it would be most welcomed by the MacKenzie Society.

This is great news. Look forward to meeting you Duncan and to reacquainting myself with John, Mark and also Andy Levett.

I have secured an extra time slot at Woodhall but Seacroft is now full. If anyone definitely wants to join then I can check with Seacroft if they'll let us have another time. There are spaces on Thursday and Friday.

I will be emailing details of accommodation in next 24hrs, so if you’re on the list on post one please IM me yours as that will be the future means of communication of detail.

Finally as I’ve added on the first post, this has grown in no’s and will only be possible if this is all tied down before I go on Holiday at the end of next week. So check you can make it and apologies to anyone who can’t commit before the 30th January but I’m closing new bookings then.

This is looking very good indeed and let’s just hope the weather gods shine on us.

Am I right in thinking that if I wanted to do 36 on Friday and then Saturday (but not Sunday, I'll need to be home to prepare to go to Scotland) then there'd be space? I'd probably stay in Kings Lynn and would need a lift, since I'd travel down by train?

If that's the case then I'll confirm yes or no tomorrow.

Brian and I will get it worked out with Tony upon his return.
he's aware of a few variables and I/we'll do what works for the group.
I'd be stunned if there wasn't other movement between now and then.
As I told Brian, I was rather looking forward to 36 at Brancaster.
Plenty of time to work it all out.
