Bill, have you ever flown spirit? Thy are going to charge you for bags, even carry on. They also charge you to confirm your seat, and charge more for better seats. Your 110  is going to be more like 210, which is still good, but would be nice if they just told you that rather than nickel and diming it.

They are the only nonstop out of NY, but still pretty dicey

question for those who have been there before... what is realistic time from golf course to airport?  (or in other words, whats the earliest time I could safely make a flight on sunday afternoon/evening?

Drive time from Caledonia/True Blue to the airport is a solid 30 minutes.  It's right off of Highway 17.

From what I remember, it's an easy in easy out airport.  At least that's what I remember from 5 years ago.

Correct on easy in and easy out... couldn't be easier! The drive from the courses to the airport will take closer to 45 minutes.

PLEASE READ: We are currently holding tee times for up to 24 golfers. On 1/1 we will check with Caledonia Golf Vacations and release the tee times for those who have not paid their deposit.

RECAP:  This year's event will be Feb 1-3 in Pawleys Island, SC as follows:

Friday Feb 1 - Caledonia Golf & Fish Club - 10:24 start
Saturday Feb 2 - True Blue Plantation - 10:24 start
Sunday Feb 3 - Caledonia Golf & Fish Club - 10:24 start

Accommodations:  Two Nights - True Blue Condos - Arrive Feb 1/Depart Feb 3
Two Bedroom condos (two beds per bedroom)

Total cost (including Cart, Tax, Fees and Range Balls):  $219

Extra room nights are available at $120 per night per condo. Split four ways the cost is $30 per person... split three ways it's $40pp... etc.

I recommend walking Caledonia. It is an easy and pleasant walk.

Walking is also allowed at True Blue. I've walked the course a few times, and it's not too bad... but, it was not designed to be walked. Most of it is a pleasant walk, but there are a couple of awkward spots that require backtracking or long walks between holes. I'll walk it with you and show you a few shortcuts!

THAW OUT UPDATE FOR JANUARY 22

TEAM COMPETITION
The Committee, in its glorious wisdom, has decided that there should be a team competition for the 2013 Thaw Out! There will be five fourball "net" matchplay matches each day with one point awarded for winning a match (1/2 point for a tie). There is a possibility that we may throw in an extra nine or 18 hole alternate shot match each afternoon... but, that is to be seen. In any case, after three days of competition the team with the fewest points will buy lunch on Sunday for the winning team!!!

Ward Peyronnin and Tim Martin were appointed Captains and they alternated picking team members in a manner that would make the Ryder Cup proud. Here are the results:
