Dorks tuck their shirts in on the course. Nerds don't.

All pros with the exception of John Daly tuck in their shirts don't they? Bunch of dorks...?

I always tuck in my shirt on a golf course as well. Course I tuck in my dress shirt when I'm wearing a suit and tie as well. Ok, ok, when I have to wear a shirt and tie. Not often and rarely for anything other than to satisfy the requirements of a nice private club before dinner.

The things we do for golf. Guess I'm a dork in this case.

Also happy to have the residing abroad exclusion. :-)

I score well on intelligence tests.
For years I thought I was socially adept, but the evidence against that concept is formidable.
As far as obsession, I uh, well, uh...at least I like 7-8 things in life.

Therefore, I am a nerd, according to the diagram.  Greatest use of a Venn diagram ever.

A nerd carries a stimpmeter with him to measure green speeds. A geek has the stimpmeter IPhone app to measure green speeds. Both can render a long winded dissertation as to whether or not the measured speed is consistent with the architect's intent.

Well, Mike, you seem well adjusted socially.  You don't seem like a very obsessive person, but you are here a lot.

Geek.

Hope this thread is saved for posterity.

Now that the diagram has clarified things, though, it seems you'd really have to be a dork to volunteer yourself as a dork.  ;)

Well,
My wife just informed me I am none of the above.  She described me as a "shit".  I was showing her this thread ( which was not smart) ( on thanksgiving also) and she ask " why would you go out of your way to aggravate all of those people?"...."they must think you're a real "shit"."

What would you call a chap who brought Darwin's The Golf Courses of the British Isles to the office on Black Friday?

Just curious.

If a dork marries a big breasted nerd, their offspring might be named Linsey Lohan?  Fill in the blanks_________,_______,________.

Live Jupiter, Fl, was  4 handicap, played top 100 US, top 75 World. Great memories, no longer play, 4 back surgeries. I don't miss a lot of things about golf, life is simpler with out it. I miss my 60 degree wedge shots, don't miss nasty weather, icing, back spasms. Last course I played was Augusta

Knowing John the way I do, he is more apt for a Geek qualification than Nerd.  I'm not sold on his social ineptness yet.

My own tactic towards life is to surround myself with very good people in order to mask my own intellectual shortcomings.  That means I can't be anything that touches the blue circle.  So I guess that means I'm a Dork.  Which kind of inductively reasons that Tom's assertion re: Dorks is true.

If you emend your obituary to include "held the captaincy for the North Squad during the 2012 Dixie Cup," does this make you a geek, a nerd, a dork or just weirdly pathetic.   I need to know before a friend of mine--yeah that's it--a friend of mine does this.   Otherwise he's normal.
Some days you play golf, some days you find things.

I'm not really registered, but I couldn't find a symbol for certifiable.

Steve, I think that's find with one change:  "Held the captaincy for the SECOND PLACE North  Squad during the 2012 Dixie Cup."

Ditto Bruce wellmon.  Marks Kinloch speech goes down as one of the funiest things ever!  While I don't remember much of it, I remember laughing so hard it hurt.  Everyone (including those he was making fun of) was laughing so hard it made it even funnier.  If I ever write a book, I'll endeavor to get Mark in as comic editor.
