I've played Delhi Golf Club, which is right in the city. It's a good window into the golf culture in India, though there are many other tourist attractions that would be better windows into the culture of the country.
The areas in between holes are almost impenetrable jungle, so if you play, be sure to bring some extra golf balls. But it's not worth bringing your clubs all the way to India. Most memorable feature of the course is not really a golf feature, but a couple of ancient temples that are within the property, just adjacent to tees on some holes. Probably a 5 on the Doak scale.
