I hope the golf course turns out to be great, I guess maybe I'm a little cynical that these improvements are taking place after a PGA Tour event left under less than ideal circumstances.  I think it would be great to have a premier course for the membership, and a championship test for NCGA events, let alone potential USGA tournaments.

I think that had this sort of thinking been in place five years ago, the abrupt notice by the A.T.&T Foundation that the NCGA had been passed over for the National Pro Am to move to MPCC , might never have happened.  I am not sure of this , but that the NCGA had another two years on the option. but were compensated by the Foundation  for something like $180,000.

They are adding a chunk of distance on many of the holes, hopefully the sand capping allows the turf to be kept firm and fast.

Big change to #14, I assume they will have the flexibility to play it as a risk/reward driveable par-4 ...

Mike I don't think the black line exactly represents the proper play on that hole.

Kind of a shame about number 11. I've always thought that was an excellent par 3. Very, very difficult, requiring a precise long-iron (or hybrid) shot to hit the green, and a difficult 2-putt for par.
