Those look really fantastic! I have never tried True Linkswear, but have only heard great things. It is really great of them to get behind this great cause.

Stephen, TRUE's don't need too many more advocates on this board - but I can't speak highly of them enough.  I have pretty much put the rest of my golf shoes in the closet and practice/play in TRUE's almost exclusively now.  I made the switch last year and convinced some of my friends to do the same.  No one has regretted it yet.

I was out at Bandon this March and walked 36 a day without issue and I have worn them for several 54 holes outings as well...

They will get put to the test on June 25th as part of the HHH at Kingsley - I am planning on rotating through several pairs over the course of the day.

It is a great product and right on trend with one of the biggest movements in footwear today - minimalism.

Congratulations to Rob and his team for getting on the idea early in the curve and creating a great product and telling a great story...

Just wanted to let everyone know that the Limited Edition HHH TRUE's are now up on their website...they look great and support a fantastic cause.  I just ordered the White/Electric Blue Stealth's in size 13!

Thanks to Rob for being such a great supporter of the HHH!

Here is the link...

With the additions of Matty G from Golf Digest and GCAer Michael George, we now have 50 guys hiking!

Matty G is hiking for Through Kyle's Eyes Foundation, to increase retinoblastoma awareness. I'm sure many of you remember Kyle's story from the May 2007 article in Golf Digest. http://www.golfdigest.com/magazine/kindred_gd0705

Thanks for the props Chris - TRUE linkswear is very proud to support Jim, One Divot and the HHH and we hope that we can do more every year as the event grows over time. This is going to be really big and we can all do a ton for great charities while enjoying (and maybe suffering a bit) during the HHHs.

The energy around the event is brilliant and there are so many guys walking for a bunch of great causes - The HHH is gaining serious steam!

Big thanks to everyone on GCA for their support of the event and the hikers!

Howard - Kentwool make a very good sock, as does Swiftwick. I tend to wear Swiftwick because they are thinner but breathe well - either would be a great sponsor as this should be right up their alley!

Great news about cracking the 50 mark with Matt and Michael joining the fray.

Kyle is truly an inspiring story. Here are a few additional stories about him that Matt wrote.

Happy Memorial Day! Here's a little spotlight on our good friend Ben Sims. I hope you'll join me in supporting his Hundred Hole Hike for Troops First Foundation.

The first Hundred Hole Hike for 2012 will be taking place on June 18th at Flossmoor Country Club in Chicago.  You can find a list of the participants on the 18th and all subsequent dates here:  http://hundredholehike.com/find_golfer

As the date approaches, those not hiking can get involved in several ways, as noted below.  Even though the intricacies of charity organization law have precluded the raffle option, I hope you'll be able to do your part even without the chance of winning a "prize."

1.  Pledge - there are a multitude of great causes being supported this year.  Even if you don't know the hiker walking for a certain cause, if the charity they've chosen is something you believe merits support, please consider a pledge.

2.  Caddying - a few of the hikers have been able to arrange for caddying support, but most of us are going to be left pushing a cart or carrying our own bags for most of the day.  If you live near one of the hikes, please consider stopping by for a few hours to walk a round or two with one of the hikers.  Trust me, it will be greatly appreciated.  Anyone that wants to help out for the Flossmoor event can PM me directly.

3.  Contact with the Charities - Each of the hikers has endeavored to reach out to the charity of their choice to make sure they are aware of the effort being put forth on their behalf.  For a few of the organizations, it has been hard to get the attention of the proper parties.  For example, their are a few of us walking for the Evans Scholars Foundation.  As of today, we're not quite sure if the WGA is aware of the fundraising activities being undertaken.  If you have any contacts at the WGA, or at any of the other charities noted in the link above, please reach out to the appropriate hiker and/or the charity organization to try to make the connection.

If anyone has any other ideas about how a non-hiker can help support this year's event, please share them here.

I forgot the biggest way to help of all, sign up to hike.  There's still time to get on the train.

Sven,

If anybody is interested in putting in some work on the 25th at Ballyneal by caddying (probably 2-3 rounds of looping) and 4-5 hours of helping out in other ways (forecaddie, tending a pin, etc), we'd certainly appreciate the help. The pay is miserable, but in exchange I can sponsor golf on either the 24th or 26th. Shoot me a PM if you're interested.

My home course was willing to let me and others do the HHH on June 18 or 25, but for various reasons I can't do it this year.  Congrats to Jim for organizing a terrific event.

Great to have Joel Zuckerman join the HHH movement!

He'll be hiking June 29 at Secession to benefit Liam's Land, a non-profit that works to advance the research and identify possible causes of lymphatic malformations.

Howard, you should put your survival checklist on the site as a blog post for visitors who aren't GCA readers.

Okay, we're in June now, the month of the hike.  What's it take to get Ran to make this thread a 'sticky topic."  I think it is only prudent when a huge majority of the hikers are members of this website.   :)

I don't want to take this OT, but I have a genuine question and this was the first place I thought to ask. I am looking at getting some True Linkswear Stealth White HHH shoes and I wanted to know if these run true to size? I wear a 10.5 in the Adidas Adipures, would you recommend same or half a size smaller/bigger? Thanks!

Stephen,

I wear 10.5 in Adidas 360s and the 10.5 Stealths fit great. 10 is the better choice for the PHX.

Done! thanks!  let's see who can get most creative with their pledge!

I received a bonus pledge "any eagle putt you have and another extra if you make it! Dont forget to count them."

Bad news:     I don't hit a long ball.
Good news:  All four par 5s at Flossmoor are less than 520 yards from the gold tees.

I have a pledge that requires me to track greenside bunker sand saves. Doesn't matter if it is for par. Just needs to be up and down from a greenside bunker. Fortunately, I am capable of counting to both 0 and to 1, the two most likely outcomes of that creative pledge!

Tim -

I pledge $50 for every birdie you make on #2 during the HHH. Please count beyond 1.

Just got a pledge that will kick in extra cash for each hole I play with no pants on.  Since I'll be wearing shorts, i'm going to take this guy to the cleaners on the technicality.
