Having seen Jay work tirelessly (or should I say sleeplessly) for a week at the WS PGA, I have no question how hard he works at his writing and how dedicated.  Congratulations, and well deserved.
No actual golf rounds were ruined or delayed, nor golf rules broken, in the taking of any photographs that may be displayed by the above forum user.

Jay,

That's terrific, I know you must be very pleased.

Tim Cronin recently wrote a terrific book on Pine Tree.

Congrats to Jay.

Here's his award-winning column on Dan Jenkins being named to the Hall of Fame.

Good on ya, Jay. Congrats!

I very much enjoyed the article.
That Dan Jenkins sounds quite the ticket apart from his inexplicable slurring of that "Great chieftain o' the puddin-race"!

I like your quote by Yokum where he says "He (Jenkins) embraces all young writers - he helps them, he builds them up and gives them confidence." A great skill to have and so valuable for any struggling recipients.

Is there any web link so I can read his chapter 'The Glory Game' from 'The Dogged Victims of Inexorable Fate'? Just need to check out that it ".....is the funniest piece ever written about golf."!

Thank you, guys!  That's really nice of you all.   :D

I had a great subject.  Dan makes everyone smile, and I really do fairly worship him.  He makes it look so easy, yet he does it with such grace.  Working with him is scream.  He really does look at you, pull out a Capri, and say, "the smoking lamp is lit."  And at any given moment he might look at you, rip off a one-liner, and completely disarm you with laughter, usually through a serving of roasted Tiger.

It was a fun assignment. and that's saying something because pretty much every assignment in golf is fun in some way.  It's really easy to love this job.

Congratulations to Tim, also!

The Jenkins bobble-head is #1 on my all-time list of golfing acquisitions. It even trumps the copy of "Confidential Guide" that KLynch left in my care, which is saying double ('cause it's the Guide and 'cause it's a gift.)
