It may take about 600 years for the Segway to catch on.

I love the Segway and believe it to be the ideal way to traverse a golf course quickly. Sadly, I may be the only one

600 years from now... they are still going to wonder if the Old Course should be played backwards.

Some guy will open a new golf architecture firm named:   Renaissance Golf Design 10.2

They will add length to Augusta National for the 100th time but the official course yardage will still be 7250 yards

Snooping around on the internet it looks like they cost something like $5-7K. 

I've never been on one, but it seems as though it might be a perfect way to get around a golf course quickly in the right hands and it could be very fun to boot. 

Unfortunately, it would appear that a certain amount of talent is required to operate one safely.  I can just see a few careless (or befuddled) golfers running these things off of cliffs or into lakes or bunkers or barrancas. 

PR and liability issues will keep these things a million miles away from any golf course near you.
