Rich:

Just curious; if Hunter said that the glorious game was born there (on the Linksland)...., why do you think he did NOT say that's where the game's origins were?

Rich you are right about the D-8, but in the spirit of this site. I am trying to let nature be my friend and let the course be a refection of the natural contours and character of the land and the culture of the people.

Tom P

This is all getting pretty confusing, but it was Tom MacW who was misinterpreting Hunter--even though it was his own selected quote that he was getting confused about.  My logic is perfectly clear, if you look carefully at this thread :o

John B

Good philosophy.  Just remember that Nature's spelled backwards is S'erutan, and given that the Stanford weenies choked against those coachless YellowJackets, I say "Go Tigers!"

Gib,

Great point.

I so associate flat golf with Florida that I completely overlooked Westhampton, a terrific and very interesting golf course.

Thanks Rich, for it is time for all great Tigers everywhere to tape up and get ready to dust off a group of Illini types. I was shocked that your techies could not beat a coachless group of engineers. I mean they are checking everyone's resume' in atlanta now. Newt G. is even laying low. Happy New Year.
