Does anyone have any pics of Cape Kidnappers?
Cape Kidnappers Clubhouse. Designed to look like a shearing shed and to fit in to the overall Farm theme. Works great and is a superb and authentic setup with understated luxury
Possibly the most iconic clubhouse now in NZ is The Hills. Architecturally award winning it is as cutting edge and innovative as its owner Michael Hill. Grass roof top its very modern and sits into its environment. People possibly talk about the Clubhouse as much as the Course.
Paraparaumus clubhouse is very typical of a large percentage of kiwi clubhouses, many which were built during the 60s. Functional at the time but now too large for general use, high maintenance costs and diminishing use. Beautifully positioned though and is a wonderful spot on a fine day to sit and watch the golf play up 18.
Finally Southland Golf Clubs modest Clubhouse. I really enjoyed it. Pot belly stove, cheerful service, walls stacked with history, simple yet really effective. Of course they don't appreciate what they have and whilst only operating off 1 groundstaff and minimal course maintenance budget, the Club is chasing a new Clubhouse as its no.1 priority. This Clubhouse again is very representative of the smaller rural or smaller center clubs (which make up 75% of NZs total courses). A real hub for the community, manned by volunteer labour and serves the basic purpose - a place to gather post round and enjoy a basic refreshment whilst reviewing the card.
