I have enjoyed the responses to my original post. Yes, it looks like it is not particularly spectator friendly, but I was at Kiawah, which is also not an easy walk, and saw that not everyone makes the 18 hole trek, especially with the crowds. And the natural ampitheater (like Riviera) behind the last green looked like a neat setting for a closing match. What struck me is that Kiawah had holes won with eagles, pars and bogies, and that is what I saw this week. It was more about that than Sherwood in itself. As others have remarked, I would love Riviera. Maybe the best thing about any of those courses mentioned in the replies is that we could have Ryder Cup matches ending in prime time. I think we have seen how evening events like the open at Torrey Pines or some of the Australian events can bring in a different audience. To that degree I would like almost any good west coast venue.
