The Dundee and Angus Council has never covered itself in glory regarding architecture post WWII as far as I can see. Just look at the horrible skyline as you cross The Tay Road Bridge from St. Andrews on your way to Carnoustie. And today is better than 30 years ago as many of the multi-storey monstrosities are being pulled down. It has been a shame as council graft and corruption took its toll through the sixties leaving a rotten legacy. More so when, as Brian alludes to, there is some lovely buildings and homes in the Broughty Ferry/Monifieth area and beyond.
Carnastie got the old shoe box (a larger replica, from memory, of many of the council flats built in the '60s and '70s)! Then the new monstrosity! And all that time they could have had a Lorimer look-alike!
