Dave Staebler will be there with some cd's he created that contain the original design, the aerial photos from the Dallin Collection, and Gil Hanse's master(ful) plan.

As Mayday indicates, the early afternoon on Oct 1 at Rolling Green will be a fun, informative day.  I have many parties expressing interest, but we welcome more.

Then on the following morning we'll experience the St Martins course at Philly Cricket.  I'm really looking forward to this one.

Then we get on over to PV noon-ish to be ready for the MacwoodCrump Cup at 1 PM.   ;)

Joe,
I've been planning on coming up for the Crump Cup for a while. I'll join you guys for golf wherever you have room. I'm looking forward to seeing PV for the first time.

I'm arriving by train, with topo, er, uh   contour map in hand  so I can tell if what I see is real.

Should also help when I walk down the fairway centerlines from tee to green.

Leaving my trusted horse at home just in case anyone is concerned.

If train just goes by at  70 mph,   I'll wave.

See if you can guess how tall I am ?

Great Ed.  I don't think I've seen you since the Shriner luncheon at the 2009 Walker Cup.

I'll provide more details soon, but Flynn-fest on Saturday, October 1 at Rolling Green will likely begin with a buffet lunch and perhaps a chat session/presentation by the supe and others, before heading out for golf.  There may be a couple of mystery guests from the area in attendance, well known to GolfClubAtlas.   ;D

Ok, looks like we almost certainly have a change of venue for the Saturday round.  Flooding in our area recently played havoc with some events, and the member/member tourney at Rolling Green last weekend was washed out.  It looks like it will be rescheduled for Saturday, October 1.  So this takes RG out of the running.  :(

However, we had as a backup plan, and what a backup plan it is (!), to play at Philly Cricket.  Powell Arms is making this happen.  Looks like we'll tee off around 1 PM on the Wissahickon course.  I'll provide more details later.

Last September a group of Philly-area guys were invited out to Cricket to see the changes at the Wissahickon course.  Gib Carpenter and Powell served as hosts.  I did an extensive photo tour of the course here:

I haven't heard officially yet but I think it is right to change now to create certainty. There's always next year!

The tree work at Philly Cricket is amazing and not to be missed.    Powell and Gib are wonderful hosts, as well.

Too bad Rolling Green had to cancel as I was looking forward to seeing what's been done there in recent years but as Mayday said, there's always next year.

It's sort of like seeing seeing Halladay get scratched, only to be replaced by Cliff Lee.

Love both the Rolling Green and Philly Cricket courses. Anyone who hasn't seen Cricket will surely have a fabulous time! There are just so many good holes that sit right in front of you. Lots of histoy just dripping from the clubhouse walls and the porch is quite a venue to view the 18th hole , which even in these days of mortar shot drvives can scare the best players in the area.

Really hoping to see lots of you guys at Pine Valley for the Crump , as I snuck out there last year and walked around for three hours of golf bliss. It's always fun to go home for me .

It is time to step up to the plate concerning the Saturday afternoon round at Philly Cricket.  About a dozen of you previously indicated an interest.  Powell needs to know how many are playing to line up the times, starting around 1 PM (e-mail me for the financial details involved).  Here are those that earlier expressed an interest:

John S
Kris S
Dave H
Ryan T
Will L
Tim M
Mike B
Jay F
Jason J
Jerry K

Please confirm your attendance Saturday with a reply on this thread or to me in a PM or e-mail.

Unfortunately it appears the Sunday morning 9-hole round at St. Martins before the CC cannot be accommodated.  But it is on the docket for the future says Powell!

Joe,

I'm out for this weekend.  Instead of heading up to Philly on Saturday in advance of my conference in DC on Monday I'm just going to head to DC late Sunday.

Good on you to organize this though; I'm sure everyone will have a blast and get to see some great architecture (both days).
I get it, you are mad at the world because you are an adult caddie and few people take you seriously.

Excellent spellers usually lack any vision or common sense.

I know plenty of courses that are in the red, and they are killing it.
