Shouldn't qualified voters have played both holes ?

How can anyone judge the playability of a hole without having played it ?

How would the voting have turned out if the voters were restricted to those having played both holes ?

I agree with Mr. Mucci that one must have played both holes to vote (that is the reason I didn't vote in the final).

I would also argue that the original should not be included in the competition since there have been many of the "how can something be better than THE template" arguments.

Just my opinion, but your competition, you make the rules.

I would be the house that you haven't played Prestwick's 17th 100 times.  Although I'm guessing you probably qualify for NGLA #3.

Pat, ideally that would be the case for voting. However, if we limited votings to that, we may get may be 2 or 3 votes per match. And that is if those people are paying attention.

The purpose of this series is to learn more about the templates and variety of holes that feature that templates and how it is modified per environment. Who wins in the end, to me, is not as important as the journey.

What do hope is that if you have played the holes featured, please do chime in with your opinions so that we can all learn and judge.
