For those who have continuing cabin fever, I figured it would be great to have some GCA guys out to play Schuylkill Country Club just outside of Allentown, PA.  I was out there last weekend and the course is doing well for being early on in the season.  Joe Bausch and I took lots of really great pictures and they can be found in the separate Schuylkill CC thread.  For those who are unfamiliar, Willie Park laid out the original nine holes in 1921.  Donald Ross came in during the early 40's and created the second nine while reworking the original nine holes. Recently Ron Pritchard has done restoration work to the golf course, with fantastic results.

I figure after a nice round of golf we can have a few beverages and food in the men's grill as well.


The guest fees are $45 dollars including a cart, but the golf course is very walkable for those who wish to do so.  If you're interested, simply reply or shoot me a PM!

Also note that if you cannot make it, I plan to have a more formal event this summer!

Mark-The course looks fantastic in the photo thread and I would love to see it. I think I will be able to get down for the 26th if you have an available slot. I`m looking forward to seeing some of the usual suspects from Philly and will be happy to keep a log of all the WaWa`s I pass between Hartford and Allentown for Kyle Harris. This may be of no use to him as I think he has WaWa app on his IPhone. Of course those in the know are already aware that the flagship store is the WaWa in Mahwah.

I love SCC, but can't make it this weekend.  I urge all to attend if you can - you'll love it.   It's the only place I've ever played where putts break uphill!

There is roughly 3 inches of snow on the golf course as a result of the snowfall last night, and they are getting a mix as we speak.  Due to this snowfall and the high the next couple days not climbing out of the 30's, I don't think the snow will be melted and the course playable on Saturday.

Tenatively I am rescheduling for April 9th.  Check your calendars and cross your fingers for better weather!

Not sure as I have only lived up in Allentown for 2 years now.  I guess this happens from time to time, but I cant imagine it sticks around for very long.  

Waiting lets the course dry out and it will be in better form by the 9th anyway.
