Whenever I get a result on the golf course that I don't necessarily "deserve", I invoke Gene Hackman pleading for his life in Unforgiven, where he tells Clint Eastwood, "I'm a carpenter, I'm building a house, I don't deserve to die."  To which Eastwood, aiming his weapon at Hackman's head, replies, "Deserve's got nothin' to do with it."  Boom.

I've lost track of how many times I've watched that scene. Any time it's on cable, I watch just that final scene. Amazing.

Absolutely true. The movie had wrapped when that scene was shot, and the entire thing was improvised. I have a documentary which shows an alternate version which isn't as good... very interesting.

I'm fairly certain that Bill Murray doesn't have a single scripted line in the entire film.

One year on tour, I was actually paid to wear caddyshack clothing.
Guy got the license to make the clothing and heard that I was a) not quite right
b)in a way offbeat way, attached to the movie

All my shirts had a Bushwood CC logo on the chest  (complete with gopher)
and "Be The BAll"  on the sleeve.  It was quite fun
