That many people made it out to Rock Creek?  Interesting.

Most importantly, where is Kingsley?

Brian,

I don't mean to be a pain, can you show us the other courses, #11-25, on the modern list?  Thank you kindly!

It dropped?

I always knew Golfweek was garbage.
I get it, you are mad at the world because you are an adult caddie and few people take you seriously.

Excellent spellers usually lack any vision or common sense.

I know plenty of courses that are in the red, and they are killing it.

What the hell is wrong with you people posting results on this page.  It's a $1.99 for a whole year.  We have friends who feed their families from this publication.

It's worth the $1.99 just to see some interesting full page ads.

JK,

It is $1.99 for the issue, but I agree anybody who wants to see the list before it's published on the website should shell out the 2 bucks.

John makes a good point.  I actually paid $22 for the whole year.  Lots of good stuff in the issue.  Jim linked to it above.

Don't look now, John, but you're making the case for ratings and rating panels...

I agree that they exist to keep good people in the magazine business employed.  The new strategy of publishing 400 top courses will also increase their leverage against the 80th to 120th courses in each list substantially.  Genius that I admire.  Man, are you guys gonna be treated like kings when clubs see they only need that .01 extra boost to make it into print or fall out.

Where do the other magazines rank Kingsley?

I like the course a lot and agree it should be higher on Golfweek's list, but at least it's on theirs.

You know I won't rest until it gets the ranking it deserves.  And you are right that something is better than nothing.

Yes, the ratings of Golf Digest and Golf are also garbage.

I'd pay $1.99 for a nice iPad app with pictures and descriptions. Passing on the digital issue but in exchange I will try not to look at the rankings people post here although I will admit I already saw the Rock Creek and Kingsley posts.

Alotian in your top ten..could you elaborate why you hink that particular Fazio course warrants a top ten above some of his other works.
I thought the course was okay but not nearly as impressed as you.
As such another viewpoint is lawys appreciated...sure I may have missed something.
Thank you

modern-

sand hills
pac dunes
old mac
whistling straits
friars head
ballyneal
bandon dunes
sebonack
the golf club
pete dye golf club

classic-

PV
CPC
Shinny
NGLA
Merion

Crystal Downs
Pebble

Is that the first time Fishers cracked the top 10? I thought they usually fell between 10 and 20.

Frankly, why is Augusta STILL in the top ten.

Check out the fantastic photo in this month's GD which shows how the 11th has been completely bastardized with what is there now.

The proof sticks out like a sore thumb.

Well officially Vesper Country Club is in at #100 and St Georges is in at #95.  Both still have a lot of work to do and they should only climb higher for the next several years.  What a feeling knowing you helped drastically getting Vesper into the Top 100.  I've only been at St Georges a few months now but I plan on assisting superintendent extraordinaire Adam Jessie with his continued success and restoration work at St Georges.
Thank you to Brad Klein and all of the raters who played both courses and gave them respectable first-time numbers!!
Ahh what a feeling!

Sleepy Hollow debuted at #85 but that was long overdue.  Tom Leahy and his staff produce an amazing product every single year.  Couple that with an awesome Gil Hanse restoration and Sleepy getting into this list is a no brainer.

And Tom Leahy, Chris Morris at Vesper CC and Adam Jessie all deserve much of the credit in acquiring their new-found Top 100 status

ANGC should be out of the top 30.   Not the same as it used to be.

So?  Even if it is not the same as it used to be it could still be a top 30 golf course.  A course should be judged for what it currently is, not what it used to be and not what it could be.

True that Dr. Jones...true that.

But I've got to say, that just looking at it one the t.v. those greens alone make it top 30 in the world.  I am jealous of anyone who has had a chance to putt on those bad boys.
