EA Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12 - Fly by of Augusta National
« on: February 17, 2011, 07:51:51 PM »
Just found this while trying to figure out the official release date:

http://www.bing.com/videos/watch/video/tiger-woods-pga-tour-12-augusta-flyover-video/1d25fd4f9a25a55f5d071d25fd4f9a25a55f5d07-427264442420?q=tiger+woods+12&FROM=LKVR5&GT1=LKVR5&FORM=LKVR

I must say, the course looks pretty claustrophobic on the fly-bys with all the trees. But I am really looking forward to this game.

Other courses included:

Pebble Beach
The Old Course
Sawgrass
Whistling Straits
Atlanta Athletic Club
TPC Scottsdale
TPC San Antonio
Royal Melbourne (yay!)
Costa Navarino (never heard of it)
East Lake
Celtic Manor (really?)
Greenbrier
Liberty National (double really???)

A must get for any computer golf enthusiasts.

Doesn't Liberty National host that tournament Tiger is involved with?  I don't really follow the Tour that much anymore so I'm not sure why else it would be there.  I haven't played one of the TW games since the first one came out and I was involved with the testing.'

Liberty National is the new host of the former "Buick" now "Barclays" PGA stop in the New York Vicinity. The tournament was held at Westchester Country Club for many, many years prior.

Tiger Woods has zero involvement to my knowledge. The Golf Course is in New Jersey built on landfill and looks out over New York Harbor.

I've played there. Resembles typical Florida golf only with bent grass.

Thanks Malcolm for clearing that up for me.  Maybe it was the Buick connection that was making me think that.

Richard,

Your statement is just another example that everything is relative.

Being from upstate NY, I'm used to playing some courses that are carved out of the trees.  And not the Georgia Pine types, with thin trunks and high foliage.  Thick maples or pine trees with limbs hanging much closer to the ground.

When we make out treks to Pinehurst, we always comment how open it feels (even in the trees), given the much higher chances of generating a recovery shot.  I watched the flyover and thought it felt pretty open.

What does it matter if the poor player can putt all the way from tee to green, provided that he has to zigzag so frequently that he takes six or seven putts to reach it?     --Alistair Mackenzie--

Augusta finally officially made it into a game.  That has gotta to help their sales in the fall when the game comes out.  I only buy the new version of TW Golf every other year because of some of the course repeats and the gameplay doesn't seem to improve a ton year to year.  Count me in for this year's offering!

Bill
You don't have to wait until Fall - the website says the game is due out in 34 days.
