Passion for Golf Course Architecture/Construction
« on: December 06, 2010, 07:42:43 PM »
it was so great seeing those black lines on the white map all transfered into the green land and become real! it was like a dream, i vitnessed all of it and so touching making me almost cry. it's amazing, you know.

I received the above communication in an email from a young lady in China who has never played a full 18 hole round of golf in her life.
She was involved in a project in South China as an interpreter.  She no longer works in the golf industry, but I find her passion for the industry rejuvenating for me.

Everyone in the design and construction industry likely knows they are doing something that others merely dream about.

Golf is still a NEW FOUND WORLD for some!

Ron, if you are in touch with this young lady, I think further drawing her out on her new found passion for GCA and the process might lead to some touching revelations, similar to how we were all touched by the 'Pizzaman' thread of legend here on GCA.com.  I for one would love to read an essay by this Chinese woman detailing her observations and impressions of the process.
No actual golf rounds were ruined or delayed, nor golf rules broken, in the taking of any photographs that may be displayed by the above forum user.

RJ, There is an outside chance that I might meet this girl over the Xmas holiday.  We have exchanged a couple emails.  What caught my attention regarding her was her comments pon a social networking site regarding Platinum paspalum turf.  She also had a few pictures of a nursery.  I was intrigue that she was young and so expressive for something that I know many here have the same passion. I will update if we meet.
